This shows that he is actually doing his job and is getting involved in the actual fight for more human rights, especially in the countries and territories where humans are not treated equally. Among the countries that Thor Halvorssen is targeting with his activism is North Korea. The Kim Dynasty has proven to be very tyrannical in its rule, especially with the defectors speaking out on the regime and all of the problems that it has caused for the civilians.

Poor Online Reputation Management Could Cost Trump the Election

The public’s opinions on Donald Trump are very mixed, and there are numerous people on both sides. Some people see Trump as a candidate with a lot of potential. However, there are others that fear he may make foolish decisions while in office. Amongst Republicans, Trump is taking the lead. In fact, according to a recent poll, 60% of Republicans endorse Donald Trump even amidst his online reputation crisis. On the other hand, Trump tends to be viewed very poorly amongst Democrats. In fact, he is seen exceptionally negatively by Democrats. However, both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton seem to have the lowest reputation of any recent candidates.

Donald Trump seems to have a much lower reputation than any of the other Republican candidates of recent history. The closest Republican candidate to his reputation was George Bush in 1992. However, his reputation is significantly less than his was at the time. In fact, there is a difference of around 10 percentage points.

However, there does seem to be somewhat of an upward trend with regard to his party approval rating. This rise has seemed to stall in very recent times to some degree. However, the overall trend appears to be an increasing reputation. Now, his party approval rating is very close to that of Hillary Clinton’s party approval rating, which has remained slightly higher than Donald Trump’s. Given Hillary Clinton’s relatively poor reputation, Donald Trump’s overall negative reputation doesn’t seem likely to be too much of an impediment to his success.

More Drought Equals Less Snow for California Ski Resorts

The drought conditions in California are a major concern to many individuals and organizations. The California ski industry is especially concerned by the drought and the effects it has had on the amount of snowfall in winter.

While listening to “Press Play with Madeleine Brand” on KCRW I discovered an interview with Andy Wirth discussing this topic in detail.

Andy Wirth is currently the CEO and president of Squaw Valley Ski Corporation, which is comprised of both the Squaw Valley Ski Resort and Alpine Meadows. For over 20 years he has worked in the ski resort industry in some capacity.

While fulfilling such roles he has learned the importance of keeping a close watch on weather patterns to help ensure his company thrives throughout each season.

His background in the ski industry in Colorado and California make him a great source for information on how the drought has effected snow in the region. According to Mr. Wirt there has definitely been a decrease in the total amount of snow fall. Learn more about Andy Wirth: https://www.facebook.com/FriendsOfSquawValley/posts/10152191670133708

Unfortunately, this has led to a decrease in overall visitors to ski resorts. The outlook is not overly bleak, though. The total combined ski area held by the two resorts under Mr. Wirth’s control is over 6,000 acres.

In order to continue a profitable business Mr. Andy Wirth is looking at expanding summertime activities and really taking advantage of all the area has to offer beyond just skiing.

This is something that ski resorts in California and Colorado are continually looking at in order to ensure continued growth and appeal to visitors throughout the year.

While skiing in the winter is certainly a main attraction for the area, there are enough other activities to keep visitors entertained without snow. Learn more about Andy Wirth: http://www.kcrw.com/people/andy-wirth

In short, Mr. Andy Wirth expresses a concern for the changing weather patterns and hopes to reduce the company’s carbon footprint as much as possible, but he is not concerned with the longevity of the company.

He anticipates many years of a continued presence in the area due to the careful business practices ingrained in the structure of the Squaw Valley Ski Corporation.

Investors are Optimistic About Heldrich Hotel Despite Its Woes

The Heldrich Hotel in New Brunswick, New Jersey, is an example of public dollars utilized by private firms to stabilize the local economy. The hotel is developed by the New Brunswick Development Corporation, which is also trying to pay debt accumulated by the public firm, Middlesex Improvement Authority, the financier of several such public projects in the country. According to officials, the Middlesex Improvement Authority still needs to pay a whopping $7 million in missed payments. As such, the total loan on the original investment is $20 million, which is paid annually in increments of $1 million.
Interestingly, it should also be noticed that Heldrich Hotel and Conference Center failed to attract anticipated visitors due to the economic downturn of 2007 and 2008. When opened in 2007, the low occupancy rate continued to pose challenges. As of now, the occupancy rate has increased, but the hotel still need to generate hefty revenues to pay off the bills. Still, spokeswomen for the Middlesex Improvement Authority, Maria Prato, is highly optimistic that the hotel will generate substantial revenues as the U.S. economy continues to recover from the 2008 recession. Similarly, Chris Paladino, who arranged the loan for the hotel, agrees that the hotel project is proving its worth by employing 235 workers, contributing tax and improving revenues.

The Story Behind James O’Keefe, George Soros, and the Open Society Foundations

As a public figure, George Soros sometimes has to deal with annoying situations. Recently, Soros and his organization, the Open Society Foundations, had to deal with James O’Keefe. O’Keefe is a “guerrilla journalist” who has caused some headaches for people in the left-of-center political realm.

Per the Raw Story, O’Keefe’s attempted sting on the Open Society Foundations did not go as planned because he simply forgot to hang up the phone. O’Keefe made a very brief call to the organization and left a short voicemail. Since he did not disconnect his phone, a ten-minute conversation between O’Keefe and other party was recorded.

Details of what the “actual plan” for infiltrating the Open Society Foundations were not revealed. Based on what was reported in Raw Story and the New Yorker, this was an attempt to infiltrate the group. O’Keefe used an alias during the call and pretended to be someone from Hungary. George Soros, the founder of the Open Society Foundations, was born in Hungary.

George Soros has made a name for himself in the financial world as an accomplished financial expert. When George Soros speaks publicly to the news or when he does something major in the world of finance, the media takes note. His commentary on the refugee crisis in Europe, his concerns over another great recession, and his decision to sell a lot of U.S. stock and invest significantly in gold are all things that raised eyebrows in the financial world.

George Soros earned his wealth and fame early on in his career when he launched a massively successful hedge fund. The fund ended up earning George Soros billions of dollars, and he continues to manage his hedge fund operations successfully to this day. In the late 1970’s, Soros stepped up his philanthropic and political endeavors. The modern incarnation of the Open Society Foundations organization has its roots in early activism many years ago.

The Open Society Foundations was first established in 1979. The earliest work the organization performed focused on scholarships to deserving students. The organization has grown immensely in recent years and champions the expansion of human rights across the globe. The organization and George Soros have been political active as well in many countries.

The situation with O’Keefe has not caused any harm to the organization. Since the initial phone call was botched, everything was nipped in the proverbial bud. Based on the incident, members of the Open Society Foundations are sure to be on the alert for pranks and mischief.
